Pre-season matches - Monday 27th July

Eduardo impressed on his first appearance of Arsenal's pre-season campaign as he bagged a brace to help the Gunners beat Hungarian outfit Szombathely Haladas 5-0.

Nicklas Bendtner, who has recently been linked with a move to AC Milan, also struck a double and he opened the scoring as he headed home Armand Traore's cross from the left flank.

Eduardo looked strong as he continues to battle back from a horrific broken leg and dislocated ankle and the Croatian grabbed the next two goals.

Bendtner beat Szombathely goalkeeper Daniel Rozsa with a low shot just before the break to make the score 4-0 to Arsenal.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger made eight changes at the interval with Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin both being introduced to give the home side more to worry about.

It was van Persie who bagged the final goal of the match as he fired home a penalty after Bendtner had been bundled to the ground by Rozsa in the box.

Haladas did have a chance for some consolation from the penalty spot seven minutes from time but Brazilian defender Barbosa slipped in his run-up and could only trickle the ball past the post.
